Wa –unity-
Considering Japanese style represented by “Wa”, I reached two different
“Wa”. “Wa” in kanji implies something peaceful. In the meantime “Wa”
in hiragana implies simply a round-shape.
“Wa” in kanji originated in ancient time in China. We have been using
the same kanji since that time. Some people say that it means that we have
not made any progress ever since. But I don’t think so. I think it shows
that we have been continuously developing ourselves trying to embody the
virtue of human being, which I believe is important. I drew “Wa” in
hiragana this time. I find a close relativity between “Wa” in kanji and
“Wa” in hiragana in terms of their meaning. Therefore my “Wa” in
hiragana looks even more round-shaped so that it can encompasses the
essence of peace.
