“Arigatai” (appreciation and thanks)

“Arigatai” settles in your heart for a long time. The word Arigatou (Thank you) derived from “Arigatashi”. “Arigatashi” =”hard to gain” = “hardly happens”. In old days, people prayed for and thanked the god by putting their palms together and saying “Arigatai kotoda (It’s very much appreciated.)” whenever something good happens. That’s how the word “Arigatou” was formed.
